The 2018-19 CUNY Diversity & Inclusion Research (CUNY-DIR) Initiative
Goals and Objectives
CUNY is home to a highly diverse student body and to a large number of D&I-related initiatives and research projects. The recent success of the 2018 Research Conference on Diversity & Inclusion confirmed wide-spread interest in D&I Research, and highlighted many opportunities for sponsored research and collaborations within and outside CUNY.
Our mission at QSDI is to help establish CUNY as a hub of D&I Research, to add a quantitative component to existing and new D&I-related projects, and to create a bridge for collaborations across CUNY, and with external sponsors and partners. The CUNY Diversity & Inclusion Research (CUNY-DIR) Initiative aims creates a formal vehicle for such collaborations.
We invite members of the CUNY community to participate by submitting ideas for D&I-related projects that include or can be extended to include a research component. With the support of several CUNY entities, we will assist in identifying and refining collaborative project ideas, we will establish a network of potential sponsors and partners, and we will collaborate with a select group of CUNY members to prepare and submit proposals for specific D&I research projects.
